About
The Port Allen Community Development Corporation (CDC) is organized to improve the quality of life in Port Allen, Louisiana, by stabilizing and then increasing the population through the creation of new, upgraded, and expanded housing and commercial opportunities for the benefit of existing and new residents and to otherwise improve the overall standard of living in the city. The Port Allen CDC was organized as a result of interest in revitalizing the Ferry, a neighborhood in eastern Port Allen, abutting the Mississippi River. The CDC Board of Directors held its first meeting June 2004 and incorporated as a non-profit organization in August 2004.
